India first tech startup conclave & awards, India’s biggest tech startup event organized by all India council for robotics and automation, got off to a rousing start on February 17th with an inspiring inaugural address by Dr Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), Minister of S&T & ES, Govt. of India. He said the robust ecosystem of Startups will play a critical role in ensuring that India achieves its goal of a $5 trillion economy by 2025.
“India is emerging as world’s preferred Start-Up destination due to its vast unexplored potential coupled with ease of business and regulatory environment provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Said the minister. “Due to various schemes, focus and support systems provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 10,000 Start-Ups got registered in India in 2021 alone. India now has 50,000 plus start-Ups providing more than 2 lakh jobs in the country.” He added.
The minister said that announcements of Digital rupee, digital banking units in 75 districts, a digital university, and startups tied to artificial intelligence, space technology, and Drone Shakti, are examples of the government’s digital drive and innovative ecosystem that it wishes to foster. He further added that the expansion of investment opportunities in tech start-ups in sectors such as public services, healthcare, agriculture, financial services, education, retail, and logistics can help India’s economy by creating large-scale employment.
Dr Jitendra Singh, elaborating on the concept of “India First,” noted that India has proven itself to be an agile technology adopter and developer over the years. Our country is enabling new innovative technology models for opening up a whole lot of technology-related opportunities, the Minister added, pointing to developing trends around digital, data, and technology disruptions around the industries in India.
The event, featuring keynote sessions, leadership talks, and product launches had a startup expo of tech startups across the country.
