Google, which has been at odds with the Indian startup and developer community for months, has announced the launch of Google Play Pass in India. Google Play Pass is a subscription service that provides access to many apps and games without ads, in-app purchases, or upfront payments. It is currently available in 90 countries.
Play Pass will have 1,000+ titles from 59 different nations, including many from India, in 41 different categories.
Play Pass, which has the ability to reach users in 90 countries, would provide Indian developers of all types of apps and games with a new way to grow their worldwide user base and generate new revenue streams, according to the company.
Aditya Swamy, Director, Play Partnerships, Google India, said, “We want to deliver products and programs that the Play community – both users and developers – find value in, and we are always looking for new ways to do this. With the launch of Play Pass in India, we are excited to offer a robust collection of unlocked titles to our users and looking forward to partnering with more local developers to build amazing experiences users love.”
The Play Pass library contains a variety of intriguing titles, ranging from games that help you relax – such as sports, puzzles, and action games – to productivity tools. The company claimed in a statement that users will find well-known games like Jungle Adventures, World Cricket Battle 2, and Monument Valley, as well as useful tools like Utter, Unit Converter, and AudioLab, as well as hidden gems like Photo Studio Pro, Kingdom Rush Frontiers TD, and others.
