WhatsApp’s new feature allows users to hide last seen from specific contacts
The feature is rolling out for WhatsApp Android beta users.
WhatsApp was said to have been working on a feature that would allow users to hide their Last Seen, Profile Photo, and About section from certain people. According to recent reports, WhatsApp is finally bringing the feature to WhatsApp Android beta users. Users must upgrade to the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.23.14 in order to receive the latest feature. The feature is now being handed out to certain beta users exclusively, so if you haven’t received it yet, you might have to wait a bit longer.
One of the features that users have long desired is the option to hide their last seen and profile image. As of now, the users can hide their Last Seen, Profile Picture and About section from all the contacts. Currently, WhatsApp does not allow users to hide from specific contacts. The only thing you can do now hides it from all of your contacts and anyone whose phone numbers you did not keep. It’s also worth noting that if you hide your last seen in the current settings, you won’t be able to see the last seen of your contacts. Similarly, if you disable the blue ticks, you won’t know if the other person read your message or not.
Wabetainfo released a screenshot of the feature, which shows a unique “My contacts except” option. Previously, there were just three options: hide your profile picture from “Everyone,” “My contacts,” and “Nobody.” For the time being, the “My contacts except…” option has been added for Beta users. WhatsApp has yet to release the stable version of the feature, so if you are not a beta tester, you will not be able to use it. In fact, the feature will not be available to iOS beta users. It is now available to a limited number of Android users.
