AI in Defense and National Security
The defense track was among the most anticipated, featuring senior officers from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, DRDO, and private defense tech innovators. Topics such as autonomous combat systems, drone swarms, AI-driven surveillance, and predictive threat analysis took center stage. A pivotal keynote was delivered by Neelima Grover, Founder & CEO of Q2 Global, who addressed the urgent need for ethical guidelines to prevent AI misuse in critical military situations. She emphasized the development of “human-in-the-loop” models to ensure accountability in AI-led battlefield decisions. Sessions also examined the regulatory roadmap for AI in defense, real-time decision-making applications, and ensuring cyber-resilience in digitally dependent warfare infrastructure. Notable contributions came from technologists at TCS Defense Tech, Bharat Electronics Ltd., and HCL Technologies, who are developing dual-use AI tools applicable to both civilian and military ecosystems.
Cybersecurity: Fortifying the Digital Frontier
As AI’s scope expands, so do potential vulnerabilities. The cybersecurity vertical of the summit featured a highly technical and futuristic discussion on how AI is being used to both perpetrate and prevent cyberattacks. With growing threats to national critical infrastructure and personal data, AI-based cybersecurity is now a non-negotiable strategic asset. Speakers from Gahan AI, Suprema Inc., and the Russian Trade Commission presented breakthrough models in biometric security, zero-trust architecture, and AI-powered incident response systems. Shreyans Vasa, Country Manager (SAARC) at Suprema Inc., emphasized how automated threat detection paired with biometric verification can drastically reduce the mean time to detect and respond to intrusions. AI’s role in fraud analytics, ransomware detection, behavioral biometrics, and quantum-resistant cryptography were also highlighted, establishing a forward path for India’s cybersecurity strategy.
AI & Quantum Computing: The Next Frontier
One of the intellectually rich segments of GAISA 5.0 was the deep dive into AI-Quantum Synergy. As the world inches closer to quantum supremacy, AI is set to benefit from quantum-enhanced processing, enabling it to solve complex problems in real-time.Technocrats from Dell Technologies, Mentor Kart, HPC Technologies, and Yatra Online presented how quantum machine learning algorithms are already revolutionizing industries like finance, aerospace, and medical imaging. Panelists advocated for India to accelerate investment in quantum infrastructure and hybrid computing models to remain competitive.
AI in Media & Entertainment: Misinformation and Beyond
The media track explored the critical intersection between AI and the news ecosystem, focusing on issues such as AI-generated fake news, deepfakes, content recommendation engines, and vernacular localization. Representatives from TV9, NewsX, Marwah Studios, and KCC Group debated how media houses can leverage AI for authentic storytelling, smarter distribution, and real-time audience analytics. A keynote by Alex Galt, Founder & CEO of Realiste AI, detailed how AI is disrupting not just media but also the $1 trillion global real estate market, showcasing AI as a tool for intelligent investment prediction and urban planning.
Reimagining Fintech with AI
Financial technology is perhaps the sector most visibly impacted by AI adoption. Discussions revolved around AI-powered fraud detection, automated risk assessment, RBI-compliant digital lending platforms, and hyper-personalized banking. Senior leaders from Newgen Software, XLNC Technologies, Nucleus Software, Match Systems, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise showcased their AI-first platforms. A keynote by Rajan Nagina, Head of AI Practice at Newgen Software, focused on Generative AI and Agentics, two transformative technologies that are redefining creditworthiness models and customer lifecycle journeys.
