A recent spotting of the JioPhone Next on google play console has revealed further details about the smartphone. The entry-level smartphone, which was first announced during Jio’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June, was expected to be India’s cheapest smartphone at the time of its launch. The phone is expected to mark its debut in India soon.
The Google Play Console listing also provides some important insights about the smartphone. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the JioPhone Next would have an HD+ display with a 1440×720 pixel resolution and 320dpi. The phone will arrive with the Android 11 Go version, as expected considering Google and Jio’s partnership.
The listing also indicates that the JioPhone Next would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 QM215 processor and an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics. This will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM. The phone is labelled LM1542QWN.
Jio had planned to introduce the JioPhone Next in September, but the smartphone was delayed, most likely owing to a worldwide chip shortage. It is reportedly likely to be released around Diwali, and its recent appearance on Google Play Console confirms this prediction. It is expected to cost around Rs 3,499.
