Vanity Wagon, a clean beauty startup based in New Delhi, announced today that it has raised Rs 5.5 crore in a pre-Series A fundraising round headed by Inflection Point Ventures. Venture Catalysts, Lotus Herbals, and the existing investors – Agility Ventures (headed by Mr. Dhianu Das) and a consortium of HNIs – also participated in the investment round.
Vanity Wagon was founded in September 2018 by Prateek Ruhail, Naina Ruhail, and Sahil Shrestha, promises to be India’s first true information-oriented clean beauty marketplace with an emphasis on non-toxic products and intends to give a one-stop solution for all beauty requirements.
So far, the startup has fulfilled over 50,000 orders and is currently seeing over 1.3 lakh visitors on the website monthly, establishing a strong foundation in the Clean Beauty industry in India with a strong team.
Besides from that, Vanity Wagon has had 4.5X increase in GMV and 100 percent growth in partner brands since its seed round was raised in September of last year, according to the statement. With this round of investment, Vanity Wagon will focus even more on the IT platform, marketing, brand promotion, employee expansion, and private label acquisitions. Furthermore, it intends to grow its activities in the foreign market.

As brands in this segment continue to show robust growth, we see Vanity Wagon becoming a dominant marketplace in the clean beauty market in the next 2-3 years,” Prateek Ruhail, Co-founder & CEO, Vanity Wagon said.
