Ola Electric has been on the radar of the Indian Government and regulatory bodies and it seems like this won’t be ending anytime soon. This is due to the fact that OLA Electric is one of the biggest Electric Vehicle Manufacturers in India. Authorities require detailed information about safety standards followed by them as well as compliance to local laws and guidelines.
There have been several complaints regarding the safety of the ola electric scooters, the reliability of the vehicle itself. These complaints have raised several flags and have led the EV sector to enforce increased regulatory supervision and attention.
As per reports, the information provided by Ola Electric in regards to their supply chain, their manufacturing processes and the risk measures followed by them to ensure that the batteries are safe, were unsatisfactory. Moreover, the company has been interrogated about the consumer feedback and complaint resolutions provided.
An anonymous official of the regulatory body said, “As the technology of EVs is still new, it is important for the manufacturers to pay extra attention to ensuring quality standards, safety and reliability because the adaption and use of EVs is bound to increase increasingly faster with time”
