All India Council for Robotics & Automation has established Technology Governance Steering Committee (TGSC) for working towards the use of safe & secured AI in defense sector at the 3rd edition of Global Artificial Intelligence Summit & awards 2022. The Technology Governance Steering Committee (TGSC) will cater to be a place for developing new strategic concepts for rapid adoption of safe & secured AI.

 

To realize this vision, Lt Gen PJS Pannu (PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.) Former Deputy Chief of Integrated Defense Staff) and Prof.Charru Malhotra (Professor E-Governance, Lead coordinator (Center of e-governance, IIPA) has been elected as the chairperson & Convener of the steering committee respectively. AICRA’s TGSC will have 12 members that represent 6 different verticals in defense sector.

 

The Global Artificial Intelligence Summit & Awards has witnessed key recommendations from experts for the establishment of AICRA’s TGSC including Air Marshal Anil Chopra (PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM (Retd.), Director General, CAPS), Lt Gen (Dr) Ranbir Singh PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM (Retd.), Director General, CLAWS, Lt Gen Sunil Srivastava (AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Director CENJOWS)Maj Gen BK Sharma(AVSM, SM AND BAR (Retd.), Director, USI), Maj Gen (Dr) Pawan Anand(AVSM (Retd.), Head – Atmanirbhar Bharat, USI) Lt Gen (Dr) Rajesh Pant(PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Chief – National Cyber Coordination Centre).

 

This body, would oversee technological strategies and adoption of legitimate AI and had an extensive discussion at GAISA where it addressed the opportunities and challenges, gaps between the industry & government, and also decided upon the issues to be considered on priority.
