Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence to be set up by AICRA at Chandigarh Group of Colleges

  • AICRA has signed MoU with the Chandigarh Group of Colleges to establish the industry 4.0 Center of Excellence.

New Delhi: The All-India Council for Robotics & Automation & Chandigarh Group of Colleges embarked on the voyage of establishing a Centre of excellence in the CGC college premise. AICRA has signed MoU with the college. The initiative is focused on creating a dynamic environment for young and creative minds to imagine, explore and innovate through the help of the latest technologies and several related programs and courses. The establishment of CoE at the college premise would provide ideas, hands-on experience, and learning materials to make each student understand their areas of interest.

This collaboration further aims to offer training programs, skilling the students in various crucial technologies of the future like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Robot operation system (ROS), etc. 

“Students of our country play a major role in Nation building exercise and can be the most beneficiary of the industry 4.0 revolutionThe initiative is meant to allow interested students to follow the right path to achieve their ultimate career goal”, Says Rajkumar Sharma, President of the All-India Council for robotics and automation.

The MoU Sign Off event was attended by Dr. Vishal Sagar (Director, Chandigarh School of Business), Dr. Ashwani Sharma (Dean of Academics, Chandigarh Engineering College), Dr. Neeraj Sharma (Executive Director, CGC), Dr. Vinod Kumar (Director Academic, CGC), Dr. Saurabh Sharma, (Head, IQAC Academics, CGC), Dr. Bhasker Pratap Choudhary (IQAC Coordinator), Ms. Alka Sachdeva (Vice President, AICRA), Mr. Navin Chhabra (Director, Industry 4.0 CoE), Mr. Nitin Mahawar (Mission Director, India STEM Mission).

AICRA will support and offers the kits and other components to each member student to work on their projects and also several training programs that are made upon the comprehensive syllabus devised by experts. Students will be having an opportunity to get certified with AICRA which opens the door to a handful of opportunities in the corporate world.

 The center of excellence on the other hand could be beneficial as it disseminates an array of information and develops a pool of skilled individuals. The program will ensure the creation of road maps for the strategic goals of our country as a whole.

The Chandigarh Group of Colleges (or CGC) are educational institutions located in the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district of Punjab at a short distance from the cities of Chandigarh and Mohali. Chandigarh Group of Colleges was established in 2001 at Landran[1] initially and at Jhanjeri in 2012. The collaboration with AICRA to set up CoE in the college will take them closer to achieving the goal to bring the students to the forefront of a technology-driven future.
