ISRO Prepares for Upcoming PSLV-C55 Mission

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for its next mission, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C55, which is expected to take place on April 22. The mission will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The PSLV-C55 mission will be the first rocket to be integrated at the new PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) and is set to carry a Singaporean satellite. The latest updates on the mission have been shared by ISRO Spaceflight on Twitter, stating that the first and second stages of the rocket have already been integrated and transferred to the First Launch Pad (FLP).

ISRO is following a new approach for the current mission, where the first and second stages are being integrated at the PIF centre instead of the FLP, where they will be integrated with the third and fourth stages, along with the Payload Fairing (PLF) and payload assembly. This approach is expected to increase launch frequency and allow ISRO to launch more missions in a shorter amount of time.

ISRO recently launched the LVM3-M3/OneWeb India-2 mission in March aboard the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3), India’s largest rocket. This mission marked ISRO’s second launch of the year, with the first being the SSLV-D2/EOS07 mission in February.

ISRO’s PSLV is a reliable and versatile launch vehicle, having launched approximately 297 customer satellites for 33 countries to the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) since its first successful launch in October 1994. The rocket has also launched meteorology, navigation, communication satellites, and space exploratory missions.

With its upcoming PSLV-C55 mission, ISRO aims to continue its contributions to India’s space program and scientific advancements, highlighting its strength in the field of space technology.
