Reliance Jio is rapidly expanding its 5G services across India. Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Varanasi, Kolkata, Pune, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bengaluru, and Faridabad are among the 12 Indian cities where the telecom operator has already begun to offer fifth-generation network services. Jio has now launched its 5G services throughout the entire state of Gujarat.
Gujarat has been named the first Indian state to have 100% 5G coverage across all 33 district headquarters, according to Mukesh Ambani’s telecom service provider. “Beginning November 25th, Jio users in Gujarat will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer, to experience Unlimited Data at up to 1gbps speeds, at no additional cost,” according to an official Jio statement.
Dubbed as Jio True 5G, the fast network services will also help Jio to launch Jio 5G-powered initiatives across industries like education, healthcare, agriculture, IOT sectors in Gujarat and other states. Jio also announced a True 5G-powered initiative titled ‘Education-For-All’ in the state in collaboration with Reliance Foundation. With this initiative, the telecom giant is aiming to digitise 100 schools in Gujarat initially and offer services like-

- School Management Platform
Meanwhile, Jio customers in Gujarat and other Jio 5G-enabled cities can connect to the latest network and enjoy free 5G services. If users have 5G enabled smartphones, Jio is offering unlimited 5G data at speeds of up to 1gbps as part of the Jio Welcome 5G offer. During the 5G launch, Jio also assured its customers that the new 5G services would automatically connect to their 4G SIMs. Customers will not need to purchase a new SIM card to gain 5G connectivity.
However, the welcome offer will not be available to all Jio customers. Jio is launching the 5G welcome offer by invitation only. As a result, users will have to wait for an invitation from Jio to use the services. The MyJio app allows you to view the details and invite others. Also, ensure that your 5G smartphone has received the manufacturers’ 5G update. While Oppo, Samsung, Realme, and other smartphone manufacturers have begun to roll out software updates to support Jio 5G, Apple will release iOS 16.2 with 5G connectivity in December 2022.
