TThe Apple iPhone 14 and mixed reality headset may include Wi-Fi 6E support.

iPhone 14 is expected to come with Wi-Fi 6E support.

The Wi-Fi technology is already present in several flagship smartphones and enables faster internet connectivity.

Apple was expected to include Wi-Fi 6E support to the iPhone 13 range this year, That did not happen, and speculation is widespread about when Apple phones would have the capability that many other smartphone flagships now have. According to a new report, that might come next year, with the iPhone 14 series and Apple’s planned mixed reality headset.

Wi-Fi 6E is the next generation of Wi-Fi connectivity, supporting a 6GHz connection. In fact, this means faster Gigabit speeds, lower latency, and the capacity to manage more devices than Wi-Fi 5. Phones such as the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and Asus ROG Phone 5 already support Wi-Fi 6E.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, has now predicted that Apple would join this list next year. Of course, the update will be most noticeable on the new iPhone series. Apple, on the other hand, may have a larger use case for the Wi-Fi 6E – their mixed reality headset.

Apple’s first augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) product is scheduled to be released soon. Many reports have circulated about it, including one from prominent Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, who claims that Apple would debut the device “as early as next year.” In addition, he shares that Apple will likely price the device on this higher side and that it will come with “advanced chips, displays, sensor, and avatar-based features.”

This headset will most certainly be the gateway for Apple users to a metaverse, and it will clearly require very high internet connectivity to do so. Apple may be able to provide a more seamless experience to users by equipping the headset with Wi-Fi 6E. Apple will have a compelling motivation to provide Wi-Fi 6E capability to iPhones next year as well.
