WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, has introduced a highly anticipated feature that enables users to pin up to three messages within a chat, marking a significant enhancement in conversation organization and accessibility for its vast user base.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp Head Will Cathcart announced the rollout of this new feature via their respective WhatsApp Channels, showcasing the company’s commitment to continually enhancing user experience and functionality on the platform.

Previously, WhatsApp users were limited to pinning just one message within a chat. However, with this latest update, users now have the flexibility to pin up to three messages, providing greater versatility in organizing vital information and conversations within chats.

This multi-message pinning feature extends to all message types, including text, images, and polls, enabling users to quickly access crucial information such as addresses, event details, or important announcements without scrolling through lengthy chat histories.

To utilize this feature, users can simply long-press on a message and select the “Pin” option. Furthermore, users can specify the duration for which the message remains pinned, ranging from 24 hours to 30 days, ensuring that pinned messages remain relevant and up-to-date within the chat context.

While the introduction of multi-message pinning is a significant step forward in chat organization, users should note that messages pinned for longer durations will require re-pinning after 30 days, as indefinite pinning is not supported. Alternatively, users can utilize the “Star” feature to bookmark important messages for quick access via the contact information menu.

In addition to the multi-message pinning feature, WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new beta version of its messaging app, introducing an enhanced app lock feature. This update offers users more authentication options beyond biometric recognition, providing added security and flexibility in safeguarding their conversations.

Moreover, select users of the WhatsApp beta program can access additional features, including chat filters for streamlining conversation views and accessing a list of group chats quickly. These continuous updates underscore WhatsApp’s commitment to delivering innovative features and functionalities that cater to the evolving needs of its diverse user base, further cementing its position as one of the leading messaging platforms globally.
