WhatsApp is working on a few intriguing updates. The most recent feature found in the messaging app has a lot to do with voice notes. WhatsApp users will soon be able to listen to voice notes even after the chat window has been closed. The current set up allows users to listen to voice notes as long as the chat window is open. When you close the chat window, the voice note is also interrupted. However, things may change in a later update.
According to Wabetanino, a new feature that allows you to listen to voice notes when switching to a different chat. Three months ago, the feature was discovered in an iOS beta. It was later discovered in Android updates.
When you start listening to a voice note and then open another chat window, as shown in the screenshot shared by Wabetainfo, you can still listen to the voice note. A new pause button can be found at the top of the screen. Stop, play, dismiss the voice note, and view a progress bar are all options. The feature is currently in development, and there has been no official word from WhatsApp on the subject. If the messaging app implements the feature, it would be a significant improvement because we can currently only listen to a voice note while the chat screen is open. When you switch to another chat window, the voice note will stop.
“The global voice note player will be released to beta testers when it’s ready at a later date, so be sure to follow our next changelogs to discover when WhatsApp is rolling out the feature in a new update!,” the features’ tracker read.
In a related note, WhatsApp will discontinue the broadcast list and new group options. According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp will only keep the Archived list at the top of the chat screen and will remove the Broadcast List and New Group. “WhatsApp intends to make the chats list very clean, and in order to do so, certain UI elements must be removed.” “They intend to remove the row where you can open your broadcast lists and create new groups, in particular,” according to the report.
