WhatsApp’s new update will make it easier for users to deal with long voice notes

Have you ever received a three-minute audio message from a friend and felt compelled to check your other texts because it was so boring? WhatsApp, on the other hand, will now make things easier for you, particularly when it comes to voice notes. Some Android beta users can now use the global voice player, which has shown in previous beta updates and was even tested on the WhatsApp desktop. The feature was previously given out to iOS beta testers, so they’ve already had a chance to try it out.

The global voice player is being handed out to Android beta testers, according to Wabetainfo, which tracks WhatsApp advancements. Even if you switch to a different chat, this feature will allow you to perform voice notes. So you’ll be able to listen to the voice note while responding to other texts, no matter how long it is. The current arrangement does not enable users to leave the chat because if they do, the voice note will stop in the middle of the recording and they will have to start over. Although you have the ability to increase the speed of the voice note, it is still necessary for you to stay on the conversation to listen to it.

If you are an Android beta tester, you can simply open your WhatsApp account, play a voice message and go back to your chats list, if you see a new player bar, it means the feature is enabled!

“Note that this is not limited to voice notes, but the new player is also compatible with incoming and outgoing audio files, that have received some changes recently. If you don’t see the new player while playing a voice note and switching to a different chat thread, don’t worry: the feature has been rolled out to certain beta testers, and more activations will be following later,” the Wabetainfo read.

In a related development, WhatsApp has been observed exploring the capacity to send messages that keep disappearing. When you send a disappearing message, you don’t want it to stay in the recipient’s inbox for more than a set amount of time. However, if you have the option activated, you may accidentally send a vital message, which will then vanish since you have it enabled. In such circumstances, WhatsApp’s soon-to-be-announced “Keep the vanishing message” function will come to your rescue.
