Google collaborates with MeitY Startup Hub

Google has partnered with the Ministry of Electronics and IT’s Startup Hub to develop Appscale Academy, a growth and development initiative that will teach early to mid-stage startups across India on how to build high-quality applications for the global market.

The Appscale Academy, which will be launched in October 2021, will assist local businesses in developing and scaling a variety of world-class applications across sectors such as gaming, healthcare, financial technology, education technology, and social impact.

“It is great to see start-ups and developers across India, especially those in Tier II and Tier III towns, gain momentum and provide solutions for complex problems unique to India,” Jeet Vijay, chief executive officer at MeitY Startup Hub, said. “We look forward to working with them on this journey and helping them scale to new heights.”
Applications will be accepted until December 15, 2021, after which a team of industry experts, MeitY Startup Hub members, and Google Play will select 100 startups based on specific qualitative and quantitative parameters.

According to the statement, the initiative will also pay special attention to India’s developing startup ecosystem in Tier II and Tier III cities, with the goal of providing them with the support they need to build scalable software solutions.
