The new homegrown social media app ‘Elements’ launched this Sunday but users have not been unable to register on it. The team behind Elements has updated saying that they’re working on it.
Many users posted on Twitter saying that the OTP for Elements is failing to generate. Due to that, eager users haven’t been able to experience the new social media app at all. The app has already garnered over 1 million downloads on Google Play Store in just the first 24 hours of its launch. Elements said it is working on getting the systems fixed.
“We are re-calibrating our systems to adjust to the phenomenal response : 1M+ downloads in 24 hours. We will notify you as soon as we get our systems back up and running at full steam,” Elements tweeted. The overwhelming response isn’t very surprising especially given the fact that there is a big push to adopt homegrown apps. We’ve already seen desi TikTok alternatives gaining steam in the past few days ever since the ban on Chinese apps.
Elyments was launched by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. He said that the app has been developed by over 1 thousand IT professionals. It’s available in eight Indian languages.
We haven’t been able to experience the app yet. But some of its features include a built-in camera that has built-in filters and augmented reality (AR) characters. Elements will also allow users to have one-on-one and group chats. Elements will also offer news updates about different topics from across the country.
