Google announced some new features for its Google Lens tool, as well as the launch of Bard, which will compete with ChatGPT. According to the company, Android users will be able to recognise and search for anything they see in photos or videos shared by others or seen on websites and apps. This appears to be quite interesting and beneficial. The search engine behemoth has confirmed that the feature will be available in the coming months. Everything you need to know about it is right here.
Google Lens makes it easier for Android users to search for the name of a building, food recipes, car models, or any image. For example, if a friend sends you a message with a video of a location in Paris and you want to learn more about it, you can use Google Lens to learn more. To invoke Google Assistant, simply long press your phone’s power button and then tap on “search screen.” Your device will then take a quick screenshot of the location and send it to Google Lens, where you will receive more information. All of this happens in a matter of seconds, and you don’t waste any time.
Google lens will help you discover and learn more about anything you spot in photos or video. If you notice a good-looking chair in a video and want to find where you can buy it from, then you can use Google Lens to find details.
Do keep in mind that you need to make sure that Google Assistant is enabled on your smartphone. All Android phones come with assistant, and one just needs to long press power button or say “Ok Google.” But, if Google Assistant feature is off, then you can enable it in the phone’s settings > type Assistant in the search bar > tap on Assistant settings > scroll down and tap on “Hey Google & Voice Match” > enable “Ok Google.” Instead of clicking on Assistant settings, you can also tap on Voice Assistant to check if you can activate it using power button.
Google has also announced that it is expanding the global availability of its multi-search feature. People will be able to search for anything in an image and then refine their search results by adding text. In other words, you will be able to add text to the results of using Google Lens on an image.
