Mirae Asset Mutual Fund launches ETFs investing in Electric Vehicles and Artificial Intelligence

Mirae Asset Mutual Fund has introduced two new fund offerings focused on Electric and Autonomous Vehicles and Artificial Intelligence. Mirae Asset Global Electric & Autonomous Vehicles ETFs Fund of Fund and Mirae Asset Global X Artificial Intelligence and Technology ETF Fund of Fund are now open for subscription and will close on August 30.

Mirae Asset Global Electric & Autonomous Vehicles ETFs Fund of Fund (EV FoF) will invest in overseas ETFs based on companies from various geographies that are involved in the development of Electric and Autonomous Vehicles, as well as related technology, components, and materials.

Mirae Asset Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF Fund of Fund (AI FoF) will buy Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF units. GlobalX, a leading ETF provider based in New York, currently manages more than US$40 billion in AUM in thematic ETFs. Mirae Asset Financial Group includes Global X ETFs.

Siddharth Srivastava, Head – ETF Products, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt Ltd, will oversee both funds. The minimum initial investment in the funds will be Rs 5,000, with subsequent investments in multiples of Rs 1.

Announcing the NFOs, Swarup Mohanty, CEO, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Private Limited said, “Mirae Asset has been in the forefront of introducing global investment products for Indian investors. We are at a nascent stage of the evolution of these themes in India, but globally these themes are taking centre stage, we believe introducing these funds to investors would offer them a chance to participate in these global themes”.

“We want to bring the experience of investing in unique global offerings to Indian investors at an opportune time so as to make their investment horizon broad based and relevant in the investment cycle of investors at large,” he added.

Siddhartha Srivastava, Head-ETF Products at Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Private Limited said, “the New Fund Offers come at a time when valuations seem relatively attractive to investors and there is a substantial tilt towards using these technologies by majority of the countries”.
