SpaceX has successfully launched satellites for three Indian startups.

In a major achievement for India’s private space sector, three Indian space-tech startups—Pixxel, Digantara, and XDLINX Space Labs—successfully launched their advanced satellites on SpaceX’s Transporter-12 rideshare mission. The launch occurred on Wednesday at 1915 GMT (just after midnight in India) from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA.

These satellites, designed to monitor Earth and track space objects, showcase India’s expanding role in the global space-tech landscape.

Pixxel, recognized for its innovations in hyperspectral imaging, sent up another of its state-of-the-art satellites aimed at delivering detailed insights into environmental and agricultural conditions. Digantara’s satellite is focused on space situational awareness, which is essential for tracking orbital debris and ensuring the safety of space assets. At the same time, XDLINX Space Labs launched its cutting-edge satellite to improve communication and connectivity solutions.

This launch represents a significant milestone for the Indian startups, highlighting the growing influence of private players in the global space race.

“This partnership with SpaceX is a tremendous step forward for Indian space-tech innovation,” stated a spokesperson from Pixxel. “It showcases the capability of Indian startups to compete on an international level.”

SpaceX’s rideshare missions, which offer affordable satellite deployment options, have played a crucial role in enabling smaller companies and startups to enter the competitive space industry.

With this successful launch, India’s space-tech ecosystem continues to advance, establishing itself as a center for innovation and collaboration in the fast-evolving field of space exploration.
