Twitter restores Rahul Gandhi’s account after receiving an Authorization letter.

Twitter has restored the accounts of a few politicians in the Congress party that were blocked after-party leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted a picture of himself with the parents of a girl who was reportedly raped and killed in New Delhi

Indian law is against to reveal the identities of children or victims of sexual assault. As per a notice on the Lumen database, the National Commission for protection of Child Rights in India has requested that Twitter take action.

Rahul Gandhi sent a copy of an authorization letter from the persons in the picture to the company’s India Grievance Channel, and his account was reinstated, The verge reported.

Despite being visible around the world, the tweet in question, which has been shared over 15,000 times, will be blocked in India. Twitter appointed a grievance officer earlier this month to comply with new internet rules governing social media platforms in India.
