WhatsApp to give a cashback on its payment feature

WhatsApp has been seen testing cashback on its payment feature few weeks ago. According to reports, WhatsApp is already giving users with Rs 51 payback for using its payments feature. WhatsApp launched the service at a time when payments app like PhonePe is charging processing fees for mobile recharges.

According to aBusiness Insider report, WhatsApp has started to provide cash back for its UPI-based payments. The feature is currently being sent out to beta users on Android platforms. People that use the payments feature to transfer money to various contacts receive a guaranteed cashback. According to the article, the cashback can be used up to five times. The ad appears at the top of the chat window in the WhatsApp Android beta app. It has a banner that says, “Give cash, receive Rs 51 back.” So, in essence, you may receive up to Rs 255 cashback on different payments up to 5 times.

This is a smart move by WhatsApp to entice customers that rely heavily on payment applications like as Google Pay, PayTM, and PhonePe. The feature has not yet been rolled out to the public at large because it was only found in the beta version of the app, thus it must have been accessible by beta testers. It will most likely be made available to a bigger audience in the coming days.
