If you are still using a smartphone that runs on the final version of Android Gingerbread or older, Google won’t allow you to sign in to your google account on that phone from September 27th.
There are more than three billion active android users and the change is likely to affect those people who still rely on older tech. Android 2.3.7 ( Gingerbread) was released 10 years ago.
Google says, ” As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our users safe, Google will no longer allow sign-in on Android devices that run Android 2.3.7 or lower starting September 27, 2021, If you sign in to your devices after September 27, you may get a username or password errors when you try to use Google products and services like Gmail, YouTube, and Maps.”
